Advent singing in the residence of the American ambassador
Once again this year, the wife of the American ambassador Kimberly Emerson invited the members of Willkommen in Berlin to traditional carol singing in the residence. She had chosen "sharing and giving" as the motto for the invitation: sharing and giving for the men, women, and children cared for by the Berliner Stadtmission in our city. In response, the members brought packages and bags full of presents which they piled under the brightly lit tree.
Kimberly Emerson greeted her guests warmly in the tastefully decorated residence. There was also a touch of regret, because the Ambassador and his wife will return to the United States at the end of January. In previous years the invitation to the residence of the American ambassador was always a special highlight of the Advent season. President Tone Korssund-Eichinger thanked the hostess for these invitations and for her active involvement in WiB. And she also thanked the members of WiB for their generous gifts for the Stadtmission.
After enjoying delicious American Christmas specialties, the guests cheerfully sang a mixture of German and American Christmas carols to an excellent piano accompaniment. A wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit!
