Jour Fixe May: At the Federal Chancellery

The traditional visit to the Federal Chancellery on the 2nd of May was undoubtedly the most gorgeous Jour Fixe of this club year. Many of the large number of participants came dressed in national costume.
In four groups, WiB members were expertly guided through the publicly accessible areas of the building; designed by Berlin-based architectural practice Schultes Frank, the Chancellery was celebrating its 15th anniversary that very day.
The group's photo opportunity with Chancellor Merkel, who posed gamely with her international guests, took place on schedule. The Chancellor thanked WiB for its meaningful and important work, after which the Minister of State in the State Chancellery and Representative of the Federal Government for Migration, Refugees and Integration, Aydan Özoguz, received the large group for a discussion about current topics in her area of work. Subsequent questions from the audience reflected the dedication to the cause of refugees within and beyond the borders of Berlin.
