Sichuan: Tea, Art and Heritage
On 6 July 2025, China Cultural Center Berlin invited the WiB members to a special family cultural event: “Sichuan: Tea, Art & Heritage.” Mrs. Shi Ling, wife of the Chinese Ambassador in Berlin, and Mr. HE Wenbo, Deputy Director of the China Cultural Center, warmly greeted the WiB members and guests at the beautifully decorated hall featuring life-sized panda statues and a photo wall displaying the playful pandas in their natural habitat. The panda painting corner and souvenir tables with themed porcelain mugs, magnets and keychains, added a touch of cultural flair.
After the welcome speech by Mrs. Shi Ling, the representative of Sichuan province delivered a visual presentation highlighting the region’s stunning landscapes, UNESCO World Heritage sites including the renowned panda sanctuaries and cultural richness of Sichuan. The interactive quiz added an element of fun, testing the guests’ knowledge about the presentation. The Opera Face-Changing by a performer in vibrant costume followed, leaving the audience in awe and delight with its dramatic and rapid mask transformations
Centered around the theme “Tea brings harmony to the world”, the unique tea ceremony beautifully blended martial arts precision with graceful rituals of tea preparation. The WiB members enjoyed the Sichuan-produced Tibetan finest black, green and red tea at the end of the program.
We express our sincere gratitude to China Cultural Center for their generosity and kindness in organizing this exceptional cultural journey. The talented artists and tea master, who traveled from Sichuan especially for this event, brought an authentic connection to Sichuan’s living tradition.
