Visit to Schloss Bellevue on 3 July 2017
State Secretary Stephan Steinlein, the former patron of Willkommen In Berlin and the present Head of the Federal President’s Office invited the club members to Schloss Bellevue, the official office of the German president. During the visit, the club members learned about the history of the palace and the architecture of the prestigious building. The informative tour guide also included the tour to a part of the garden. It attracted keen interest of the club members who only knew the palace often from official receptions. This time, they had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the interior and the artworks.
Steinlein once again emphasized in his speech the positive impacts of the club’s activities as an instrument to promote understanding among the diplomats. After a short farewell speech, Tone Korrsund-Eichinger, the outgoing president of the club symbolically handed over the wooden baton to the new president, Dr. Gundula Beyer-Zouboulis. The participants left the palace with many pleasant impressions and great anticipation for the opening of the new club season in September.
