Welcome to the Hannover Messe
A very international group followed this year´s invitation by Berlin representative of Hanover Messe, Andrej Gross, to the fairs grounds in late April. Under the headline “Integrated Industry – Creating Value”, Oliver Frese, board member of Hanover Messe AG, welcomed the visitors and gave them an overview of a new record for the world´s largest trade fair: 30% of the 225.000 visitors this year came from abroad, as well as 60% of the 6500 exhibitors – most of them from Asia.
What impressed WiB last year – industry 4.0 – is this year´s target in all industries. Industries are working hard to cater to the world´s need for energy supply and proceed in the field of artificial intelligence. Independently acting robots showed the group that they can cooperate with men as well as collaborate – and even play table tennis with humans.
After the very interesting tour through the pavilions, Gulzara Galimova-Rennalls welcomed WiB in the Global Business Forum of the fairground for closing remarks.
Expert Susanne von der Osten, former WiB president, lead the group through the baroque gardens of Schloss Herrenhausen where grounds and castle were admired but also the designed grotto by Niki de saint Phalle.
