Visit to Herman Noack Foundry
Despite the public transportation strikes, numerous members of the Design group attended the group monthly event at the world-renowned Herman Noack Fine Art Foundry and Production in Charlottenburg on 1 April 2019. The family-owned company was founded in 1897 and features many famous monuments such as the quadriga of the Brandenburger Tor designed by German Prussian sculptor Johann Gottfried Schadow. Casting methods, modern patination and and finishing techniques were further developed in addition to classical technique of bronze casting through the works of famous artists such as Henry Moore, Georg Baselitz and Anselm Kiefer.
The artist Anna Bogouchevskaia guided us through her newly opened exhibition in the in-house sculpture museum and invited us to her studio to see her fascinating creations.
