Spot on to celebrate anniversaries of the right for women to vote in New Zealand and Germany, Embassies and Residences group were invited to share these memorable historic moments at the residence of New Zealand on 28 November 2018 upon kind invitation of Ms. Polly Nesdale, wife of the Ambassador of New Zealand.

Mrs. Polly Nesdale herself related to us how New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections and also related the impressive history of her country specifically pertaining to women’s rights. New Zealands Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is the world's youngest female head of government. Our long standing member Mrs. Barbara Schmidt presented the challenges of women’s rights and the path that led to their voting rights 100 years ago in Germany.
