At the Verbraucherzentrale

The Group „Unknown Berlin“ met at the Verbraucherzentrale Berlin (Consumer Institution) on April 8, 2016 to obtain details on national and international consumer protection. Prof. Dr. Carl-Heinz Moritz (Vice Chairman of the Administrative Board) introduced the main working areas of the Verbraucherzentrale and other national consumer protection organizations i.e. Stiftung Warentest (a German consumer organization involved in investigating and comparing goods and services in an unbiased way). Dr. Heinz Willnat (member of the administrative board) displayed the international cooperation between the international consumer institutions, the aim to harmonize these on a European level as well as the respective international networks. The acronyms ICRT (International Consumer Research & Testing), BEUC (Bureau Européen des Unions de Consommateurs) and CI (Consumers International) where vividly explained which thus made the information accessible to the audience. Ms Dörte Elß (Head of Health, Nutrition and Projects) displayed the day to day business of this important institution, which provides all consumers information and support in many areas of the daily life.
