Visit to Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche

Group 18 – „Unknown Berlin“ met on February 10, 2017 for a tour  of one of West-Berlin’s most famous monuments, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche.
The church ensemble consists of the ruin and its newer buildings by architect Egon Eiermann and glass artist Gabriel Loire.
The group was well informed on all exiting and historic details by Pastor Martin Germer. The old church ruin was built in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm I. Today the churches main effort is the reconciliation among people. At the end of the tour the group participated in a reconciliation prayer in front of the Coventry Nail-Cross, which is celebrated every Friday at 1.00 pm.
