A visit to Cecilienhof Palace
In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II, more than 30 members of the Unknown Berlin and the History and Politics groups visited Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam on 11 December 2015.
The group leader of the History and Politics group, Susanne von der Osten-Sacken took the members to a guided tour to the historical site of the Potsdam Conference that took place in Cecilienhof Palace from 17 July to 2 August 1945 and talked about the history. Here in Cecilienhof Palace, the anti-Hitler coalition: the United States of America, the Great Britain and the former Soviet Union, met and conducted a negotiation for the future development after German capitulation. The Potsdam Agreements were made and carried out in Germany and the Potsdam Declaration was issued which outlined the terms of surrender for Japan.
