Germany and the Cold War 1947–1991

On 10 October 2019, History and Politics group gathered at the Reichstag to meet Nigel Dunkley, historian and former British Military Attaché in Berlin, who is now a top-notch guide. While talking about the Cold War 1947-1991, Major Dunkley guided the group walking along the Wall, starting from the Bundestag, passing the Brandenburg Gate to Potsdamer Platz. The group was spellbound by the stories of his own personal experiences. Occasionally he relived the atmosphere of tension and conflict during that time humorously. It was a fascinating two hours trip back to the Cold War with a former soldier and agent.
