Having fled the Red Revolution, a Russian emigrant recollects his memories of his time in Russia with his first love, Mashenka. Longingly, he awaits her arrival in Berlin. When he realizes that he will never get his beloved motherland Russia back but an exiled woman, he turns away from his dream and faces the fact that he has lost his homeland.
