Zimt und Zauber: The Wizard of Oz

At the end of the Berlin Fairytale Days, WIB members and their families met on the last Sunday in November for a performance in the 19th century fairytale variety theater “Wintergarten”. Together with the Berlin children's circus Springling by CABUWAZI and the 33rd Berlin Fairytale Days, the Wintergarten presented this year's "Cinnamon and magic: THE WIZARD OF OZ".

Silke Fischer, Managing Director of “Märchenland - Deutsches Zentrum für Märchenkultur” and organizer of the Berlin Fairytale Days, had invited and reserved seats near the stage for our members and their families, from where even the youngest ones had a wonderful view of the spirited actors in their imaginative costumes against a colourful backdrop.

We were able to accompany Dorothy, the scarecrow who wished she had more sense, the tin man who lacked heart and the cowardly lion who lacked courage on their journey to the Emerald City to meet the mighty Wizard of Oz and experience their fantastic adventures in a circus version of the magical fairy tale.

We were very impressed by the dance and acrobatics of the children and young people - 30 young artists from Berlin-Marzahn - who whirled across the stage with great skill, temperament, great music and infectious good humor and put us in the mood for Christmas for a fantastic few hours in one of Berlin's most beautiful event locations.
