The Liebermann Villa

The Liebermann Villa in Wannsee is the former summer home of the painter Max Liebermann (1847-1935). Many years later after an eventful history in 1940, the house and garden were completely renovated through the effort of the Max-Liebermann-Gesellschaft Berlin e.V. It was opened to the public in 2006. Today, the villa is an art museum dedicated to Max Liebermann and his time. As the garden is listed as a historical monument, it is restored to the original state the way it was during Liebermann’s time and considered a leading example of the European reform garden movement.

On 19 October 2022, the WiB members had the occasion to enjoy the guided tour of the villa and garden in wonderful autumn weather.
