At the studio of Mark Alexander

On 12 February 2026, the WiB Art Group had the opportunity to visit the studio of British artist, Mark Alexander. The studio is located in the purpose-built Künstlerhaus on Fasanenstraße.

Mark Alexander spoke about his early entry into the art world, as well as his exciting exhibitions in London and Basel, including the exhibition at the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, where he showed his golden shield painting, a work that took 16 years to complete. He had on display examples of his work in oil and sand, his bog paintings, and a selection of fine platinum prints.

A thoughtful artist, his current series: Views from Nowhere, explores our loss of agency in the modern world.
