From Grunewald S-Bahn station to the Murellen ravine

On 27 September 2025, we set off from Grunewald S-Bahn station in glorious late-summer weather, heading toward the Murellen ravine behind the Waldbühne. Along a 700-metre stretch of the path, numerous mirrors by Italian artist Patricia Pisani have been installed since 2001, bearing commemorative texts honoring the victims of Nazi military persecution, whose sentences were carried out in the forest.

Our first stop was Track 17, the memorial commemorating those deported from Grunewald between 1941 and 1945 to Nazi death camps. From there, we passed the Waldbühne and the Olympic Stadium before continuing back through the Olympic Village, renowned for its striking architecture.
