After many years of dedicated service in various roles on the Executive Board – including as Group Coordinator (2021–2023) and Vice President (2023–2025) – Karla has now assumed the role of President of Willkommen in Berlin. Originally from Belgium and a passionate European, Karla holds a law degree from Leuven and an MBA from the Vlerick Business School in Ghent. She began her career in export and marketing for international companies before working as a relocation consultant and event manager. Her personal and professional journey has taken the mother of two across the USA, Mexico, Ecuador, and Switzerland before she settled in Berlin in 2009.

A globe-trotter fluent in five languages, Karla greatly values the wide range of activities and intercultural encounters that Willkommen in Berlin offers. She takes great pleasure in introducing diplomats to the rich diversity of her adopted home.
