Physiotherapy for a Healthier, Injury-free Future

Our English Conversation group members were pleased to meet in the new year 2024 with an inspiring topic “Physiotherapy for a Healthier, Injury-free Future”. Mrs. Martine Delgado-Hars, our gracious host on January 11th provided the right ambience in her spacious home where a lively conversation and demonstration session took place. The highlight of this meeting was certainly the stretching exercises and workouts performed by our own WIB members.

We talked about the benefits of physiotherapy for an active and vibrant lifestyle. We discussed health issues and physiotherapy treatments for dizziness, torn meniscus and arthritis, frozen shoulder, back pain and stiff neck, pregnancy-related pain in muscles and joints, and surgery recovery. In combination with these therapies, breathing exercises are not unimportant, and apparently “shaking the body” contributes to releasing stress and increasing energy. The “screaming” therapy is like letting go of the pent-up emotions, however, please be considerate of where and when you scream for health’s sake. Basically, we know how our body functions to how we feel. Some of us need daily exercises, while others focus on mental health, since both physical and mental health are important for a healthy body and mind. Mental health includes happiness, and if one prefers to stay away from physical activity, let it be! Enjoying quiet moments, reading a book, spending time with the family or playing bridge games can promote happiness hormones that the body produces for itself. Finally, prevention is better than cure. And with physical therapy, at least you know what to do to prevent an injury from happening again.
