Sumi-e Japanese Ink Painting

Kazuko Gehrig, Yuka Andreewitch

Suiboku-ga (Sumi-e) is the art of Japanese ink painting. This style of painting was first developed among the Zen priests as a way of meditation, and to find inner balance and calmness.
Nature, birds and other animals, and flowers are often selected as subjects. Our teacher, Mrs. Umesaka, is a well-known calligrapher and professional Japanese Suiboku-ga (Sumi-e) painter. Beginners are welcome!

Meetings: every 1st Thursday of the month from 10.30 a.m to 1.30 p.m.
