In the heart of Berlin, the Architecture Group met for a two hour walk from Gendarmenmarkt to the Museum Island on 21 February 2023. At all stations we were introduced to Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the far-travelled architect of the 19th century. The Schauspielhaus at the Gendarmenmarkt, Friedrichswerdersche Church next to the Federal Foreign Office and also the Old Museum on the Museum Island derive from his original drafts and designs. We had some excellent coffee at Humboldt Forum after the walk and the opportunity for a good conversation.

For our next walk on 14 March 2023, architect and author Ulf Meier will present the architectural highlights of the second half of the 20th century at Kulturforum and City West.
