Allianz Impulse on the culture of trust in companies

The lunchtime event on Sept. 18th 2023 at the Allianz Representative Office on Pariser Platz was a treat for all the senses: we enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch, a stimulating lecture, took part in an engaging discussion and had a guided art tour of the Allianz Art Collection.

Bettina Dietsche, Chief People and Culture Officer of the Allianz Group and responsible for 160,000 employees in 70 countries, had traveled from Munich to Berlin to meet us, and immediately captured our attention with her lively, authentic presentation. In her job, she has to balance the requirements of a large company ("performance" of the employees) and the wishes of the employees, because Allianz not only wants to find good employees, but also wants to keep them for the long term. Thus, Bettina Dietsche focuses on a corporate culture of trust, on lifelong education and health care and, in particular, on work flexibility for a better "life balance". The lively discussion showed that the topic concerns us and is of great importance for the world of work.

The event ended with a guided tour of the Allianz art collection - led by the collection's curator, Anemone Vostell. We saw paintings and sculptures that bear witness to the special spirit of Berlin. Starting with photos of Potsdamer Platz in the post-war period (the site of the Allianz representation was then still a construction gap after the destruction of the war) to the majestic bronze sculpture of a horse, over 6 meters high, created in 1998 by Mimmo Paladino.

We enjoyed a varied and interesting appointment at Allianz!
