Months of social distancing when meetings in private ambience was impossible clearly affected the regular activities of the German Conversation group. Finally, the first meeting took place again at Dr. Birgit Grundmann's home on 23 March 2022. It was very much appreciated by all participants. The engaging and lively conversations, some of them were personal stories, filled the beautiful Frohnau home, a district in Berlin unknown to many of the WiB diplomat members. Since the group leaders have a special fondness for Japan and its culture, Japan was one of the main topics besides Serbia and Israel, the countries of origin of the participants. It was a surprising coincidence that the two diplomat members also studied Japanese studies.
